2014-2015 Season

Qld Athletics main season runs from October to March.  Various competitions are held throughout the year.  Below is a brief summary of these meets.  Athletes must be currently registered as members for 2014/15 season to compete.  Membership details available on the Home page or please visit Qld Athletics www.qldathletics.org.au

 

QA All Comers Meets. An all inclusive competition, for Under 14 to Masters, athletes of any ablility

Events include

  • Hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m,
  • High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault
  • Discus, Shot Put, Javelin, Hammer Throw.

Meets are held at various locations including QSAC, UQ, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast.

1500m Classic

  • Features only 1500m events for primary age to masters


QA Club Championships - Shield Meets. Each meet is a separate point score competition for a perpetual shield named after four prominent QA Athletes - Denise Boyd, Gary Brown, Glynis Nunn and Joanna Stone.

Dates for Sheild meets:

  • Denise Boyd Shield 
  • Gary Brown Shield 
  • Glynis Nunn Shield 
  • Joanna Stone Shield
  • Club Championship final

 

QA Regional Cup

Five Teams are formed consisting of clubs from the following regions

  • Gold Coast
  • South Brisbane
  • Central Brisbane
  • North Brisbane
  • Sunshine Coast
  • Country.

Age groups contesting the regional cup are U14, U16, U18, U20 and Open.


Qld Junior Championships

Junior Para-athletics Championships

All inclusive events for athletes Under 14 to Under 20, and features compulory selection trials for Australian Junior/Junior Para-athletics championships.

Competition at SAF

QA Open and Para-athletics Championships

Championships will feature all events in open age category and determine the best athletes in Queensland

Qld Track Classic

Part of the Aust Athletics Tour.  Queensland athletes compete against other states to gain selection for Commonweath Games
