Redlands Athletics Inc. is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit association established to promote athletics and conduct athletic meetings in the Redlands area.
Formed in 2009 through an amalgamation between the former Little Athletics Centre (Redlands Branch) Inc. and Redlands Athletics Club Inc the club now enjoys a membership of over 200 little athletes each and a growing senior athletes base. Our club also provides a pathway for athletes 12 years and older to compete at senior level through Queensland Athletics (QA).
Our clubs beginnings can be traced back to a meeting of likeminded parents in 1980 who wanted to gauge the interest in the area for athletics. With the support of Little Athletics QLD our first full season was in 1980/81 before relocating to Cleveland State High School for the 1982/83 season where we have remained since.
Our club falls within the South-East Region for Little Athletics enjoying friendly competition with our neighbouring clubs twice yearly at Regional Relays and Relay Championships. These clubs include Algester, Balmoral, Beenleigh, Browns Plains, Mt Gravatt, Sunnyside, Springwood, Jimboomba & Wynnum Manly.
Thirty-five of our athletes have been selected to represent Queensland at the Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC’s) – formerly known as the National Little Athletics Championships which are held every year for our U13 and U15 athletes around the country.
Our club is managed by a volunteer based Committee of Management who freely give their time to promote and ensure the club continues to provide athletics in the Redlands in a safe and responsible environment whilst providing sound operational governance. All members are invited to participate and contribute to the clubs running by becoming a member on the Committee of Management.
Our club fully supports and endorses the LAQ policy of “Be Your Best” and seeks to foster a sense of community at Club Level.
All Committee Members, Coaches, Parents, Carers, Supporters and athletes are required to adhere to the clubs Code of Behaviour which can be found on our webpage under Parent Centre.
