Redlands Athletics is once again providing a well structured and supported coaching program for both members and non members.

This year our coaching program is under the management of Head Coach Jeff Stonehouse. Jeff is a Level 2 coach in Throws, Track and Walks and brings years of experience to the role and strives to get the best out of his athletes.

Returning once again is Kieth Shirt who will attend to the clubs High Jump event having held his Level 2 accreditation for many years. Our club has held prominence in this event at higher level competition which is a testimony to the knowledge Kieth imparts on his athletes.

Supporting our senior coaches this year are our junior coaches all looking to give back to their club.

We welcome firstly Lauren Toovey who will bring her State Championship and Little A’s knowledge and experience in both Long & Triple Jumps as well as Sprints. Lauren was also a member of the 2019 LAQ NZ Development Tour that competed twice in New Zealand back in January. Lauren is a State Championship representative and medalist.

Next in line is Kirra Stonehouse, in her own right Kirra brings a wealth of technical and competition experience in throws and walks to help bring out the best in our club athletes. Kirra is a State Championship representative and medalist.

Jess Hoban is another of our athletes moving into coaching with her specialty both Long & Triple Jumps and sprints. Like Lauren Jess also competed in the 2019 NZ Development Tour and is also a State Championship representative and medalist.

Maree Wright has an infectious smile that with a wonderful passion for athletics and a love for teaching makes coaching a logical step. Maree will specialise in both middle distance and hurdles gained from many years of experience and competition. Maree is also a State Championship representative and medalist.

Last but not least is our senior junior coach Geoff Callaghan. Geoff will focus his time on racewalking as he strives to continue the clubs strong presence in the sport. Through the success of his two sons in the sport  Geoff has acquired a lot of knowledge in a short time and well positioned to help athletes.

All our new coaches are Level 1 accredited or working their way towards this.

All our coaches meet the standards as set out in the Athletics Australia Coach Accreditation Framework to ensure all our athletes receive the best possible coaching and most up to date methods and techniques.
