What do we do at Training?

Training is an important part of an athlete’s development, growth and ultimately their performance in competition.

Our coaches will not only teach your children to be better in terms of performance through technical and physical training but better in terms of becoming a complete athlete through an increased understanding of all the “bits n pieces” that makes an athlete such as warm ups, cool downs, stretching, strength & conditioning rolling out etc.

Our training covers all Track disciplines (sprints, middle distance & long distance, hurdles and walks), Throws (discus, shot & javelin) and Jumps (long, triple & high).

Please note High Jump training is held on Saturday’s only before club competition for U12 and above athletes only with a focus on the Fosbury Flop.

Please note not all events will be available each and every training day and is dependent on the availability of coaches.

Please note our training is specific to age groups so please do not expect our younger age groups to be exposed to the same levels of training as our senior athletes. The clubs Committee of Management has a firm stance on directing our coaches to ensure training is specific to an athletes age rather than their ability.
