Rise Up

Redlands League Athletic Competitions

This exciting internal championship gives every athlete two chances in each event to record their best results. With a fair points system and multiple opportunities to compete, athletes can recover from bad days, learn from early weeks, and still have a real shot at earning Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals in their age group.

Redlands League Day Competition Structure

Learn how our comprehensive eight-week championship runs from Week 5 (October 7th) through Week 12 (February 10th), why athletes receive two complete opportunities in each event group to record their best results, how the initial five-week lead-in period allows athletes to learn new events and improve their techniques, and why this structure ensures every athlete can recover from illness, injury, or simply having a bad competition day while still maintaining their championship chances.

Points and Scoring System

Understand how our fair 10-point scoring system awards points with 1st place earning 10 points, 2nd place 8 points, 3rd place 6 points, 4th place 4 points, 5th place 3 points, 6th place 2 points, and all other participants receiving 1 point, how athletes only compete against others within their specific age group regardless of how many other age groups participate in the same event, why development events are specifically excluded from championship calculations, and how even disqualified athletes still receive 1 participation point for their efforts.

Awards and Recognition

Understand how our Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded based on the highest total points accumulated across all eligible events, the detailed tie-breaking procedures that differ between younger age groups (U6-U8) where joint winners are celebrated equally, and older age groups (U9+) where specific protocols determine medal distribution, how joint first place results in shared gold medals with no silver awarded, and why our championship system ensures every athlete who participates throughout the season has a genuine opportunity to earn recognition for their dedication and improvement.
